I have been obsessed with documentaries and real-life stories for as long as I can rememeber. Watching documentaries on TV, reading Non-Fictional books, and even working on documentaries behind the scenes during my time in TV Production. I have also owned a camera and taken photographs since I was a child. Once I had my son, my interest in the genre grew and I knew I wanted to capture real-life moments. The typical 'baby in a basket' pose was becoming a bit stale, and I noticed that although people were still doing the typical newborn baby sessions, that Mums in general wanted more.
I was the first photographer in the local area to start photographing babies the way I did. Naturally, in a documentary style, capturing fleeting but real life moments. No Studio. No Props. No Forced Poses.
Word got round quickly, and before I knew it I was being asked to photograph newborn baby's and their siblings, parents, and other family members. This is turn then grew and I started capturing children in more authentic and natural ways, inclusive of outdoor photoshoots!
I also take on maternity shoots on request! A maternity shoot is a lovely way to capture some images of you and your growing bump before baby arrives.
